USA Truck Paying for Driver Training Programs
Getting the right type of training is one of the first steps for aspiring truckers looking to make driving their occupation. Whether a person is seeking a job as a truck driver for a short-term line of work or as a long-term career, getting a commercial driver’s license is a mandatory requirement. Multiple schools and training centers exist to help drivers get their start, and many trucking companies are helping with this effort in order to increase the number of talented and trained drivers available to hire.
USA Truck has announced they will be paying for 15 applicants to complete a CDL training program. The program is offered by a partnership of organizations that includes: The University of Arkansas Global Campus, the Mid-America Truck Driving School, and the Northwest Technical Institute. Known as The USA Truck Career Launching Program, the initiative will function on an applicant basis and provide scholarships and education to qualified individuals who seek to enter the trucking industry.
Those who complete the program will be given access to job opportunities with USA Truck and have preference as far as which positions they take. US veterans are also able to get a $1,000 hiring bonus and may also qualify for an improved pay package. Those interested can apply online or at an upcoming session to be held on August 3rd at the Jones Center in Springdale.
Steven Brantley, the director of Driver Recruiting for USA Truck, said: “We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it will provide. Not all successful career paths take a traditional route. Our industry is wide-ranging and diverse, and the transportation sector offers limitless possibilities. USA Truck is always looking for talented, hard-working individuals who are passionate about building a rewarding career in a growing industry that is vital to keep our country moving.”
