USA Truck Awarded The Pro Patria Award

Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented USA Truck with the Pro Patria Award. The award is presented to the most outstanding employer of the state or in a particular territory annually by the ESGR State Committee to demonstrate their support for the cause. USA Truck was also one of the nominations for the Department of Defense’s highest employer honor “Freedom Award” that is awarded to only 15 lucky recipients. Out of the 4,000 nationwide nominations that were forwarded, USA Truck was among the 100 finalists.

All the extraordinary recipients who received the award had showed their utmost support to Guard and Reserve employees in terms of their exceptional leadership skills and practices. They efforts were also commendable for adopting personnel policies to make participation in the National Guard and reserves easier for the employees.

Regional Sales Manager for USA Truck Major Brian Pharaoh, who nominated USA Truck for the Freedom Award served in the Illinois Army National Guard in the 108th Sustainment Brigade.

Richard Green, administrative support technician with ESGR, presented the award and while appreciating USA Truck’s effort, the following remarks. “It’s humbling to be here today with one of the finest companies in our nation, USA Truck. Our main charter is to create a culture of support across this nation. Our national defense depends not just on the members of our Guard and Reserve, but on the employers who support them. You all are patriots as well, and we thank you.”

Kandice Harshaw, the vice president of human resources at USA Truck thanked the ESGR for the award and recognition they presented and while accepting the award, she didn’t shy out to pay her regards for the honor.

“We thank the ESGR for this outstanding recognition, as well as Major Pharaoh for his service and his nomination of USA Truck. Veterans bring an invaluable presence and skill set to USA Truck.

Approximately 25 percent of our work force has a military affiliation, so this is a cause near and dear to us. Our company has a long, proud history of supporting our nation’s heroes, and we will continue to do all we can to help them successfully balance their responsibilities,” she said.
