TCA Names Recipient of Past Chairmen’s Award
The Truckload Carrier’s Association recently bestowed the prestigious Past Chairmen’s Award to Tom Kretsinger, Jr., chairman of the board and CEO of America Central Transport (ACT) of Liberty, Missouri. The recipient was also a former chairman of TCA from 2013-2014.
Kretsinger was recognized at a special dinner ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri. He was then recognized for the honor again at the Annual Convention which took place on March 27 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
Kretsinger is a third-generation specialist in the area of law, and joined a family law firm after passing his bar exam in 1981. The firm specialized in motor carrier law since the 1930s. In 1998, he became the general counsel of ACT and has held several roles since then, one of which being president.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from William Jewell College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He has served many positions in the TCA, including board member, treasurer, and trustee for the TCA Scholarship Fund.
He chaired the Litigation Center for the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and has been a member of the executive committee and board of directors. He currently serves as vice chairman of the ATA Labor and Regulatory Policy Committee.
