Online Program Will Feature Alternative Fuel Discussion
While the trucking industry has always been receptive to the idea of leaving a smaller carbon footprint, it’s important to make sure that the technology is completely there before the switch is made. Though the change may be gradual, catching carriers and drivers up to speed on this major shift in the industry can make the transition easier for everyone.
American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear will be hosting a web-based program on the important topic of natural gas technologies in the trucking industry. The program will be titled: “Transporting the Nation’s Freight Bill on a Natural Gas Diet.”
The program will be based on natural gas becoming a preferred and popular alternative to traditional fuels in the trucking industry. In addition to ATA, Securing America’s Future Energy will also help with presenting this program. Several high-ranking names will be in attendance for the program, including the chairman and CEO of FedEx as well as the president of Natural Gas Vehicles for America.
The industry is excited about the change for numerous reasons. In addition to leaving a smaller carbon footprint, the switch to alternative fuels will lead to lower prices and reduced operating costs. This program presents a unique chance for those with a vested interest in the future of the trucking industry to see a crucial topic addressed formally.
