Landstar Truck Driver Named TCA Highway Angel
A professional truck driver from Moultrie, Georgia, was recently commended and recognized for an act of heroism on the job. Greg Moore, who currently works for Landstar Transportation Logistics in Rockford, Illinois, has earned the title of Highway Angel. This award, which was given to him by the Truckload Carriers Association, is bestowed only on those who go above and beyond to help others.
Moore was driving in Florida during April of last year when he saw a pickup truck lose control and crash into a tree. The driver was hurt and was unable to free herself from the vehicle. Moore immediately took action, stopping to help the woman.
In addition to an arm injury, the woman also sustained a foot injury. With her foot being jammed under the brake pedal and smoke and fire coming from beneath the hood of the vehicle, Moore knew he had to act fast.
After freeing the woman for a vehicle, Moore got her out of harm’s way and called for help. Moore has been a professional truck driver for 16 years, and said he was glad to be in the right place at the right time.
TCA presented Moore with a lapel pin, truck decals, a patch, and a certificate for his courageous act. Landstar Transportation Logistics was also presented with a certificate.
