The Indianapolis Work Truck Show Sets Record Attendance
The Work Truck Show has always been a great place to learn about the latest developments in the trucking industry. The show boasted a record breaking number of attendees in 2015 but the 2016 show managed to surpass that number before it even reached its last day. The high number was due to many new announcements made at the show.
Some of the biggest trucking companies of the world chose the show to announce new products which attracted everyone from the trucking industry. The announcements, speeches, and entertainment ensured that even more people will be interested in the show the next year. Jay Leno gave the keynote address; he has long been known for his love of all things related to trucks and cars.
Ford Trucks began the announcements by announcing an update in the chassis for all their trucks. Ford is a huge name in the trucking industry and they managed to pack the hall with industry insiders interested in how the trucks were being changed. The new chassis is Super Duty and can haul and tow more than ever before. The chassis combines sever best-in-class features to ensure that the chassis is one of the best options that will be available for truckers in the future.
Knapheide also announced a new brand called Never Settle. The medium sized work truck company has updated its logo, tagline, and is coming up with a new corporate theme. This was followed by Mitsubishi Fuso of America announced the Canter E-Cell, a medium sized fully electric cabover truck. It runs over 100 kilometers with a full charge and can carry a payload of 4,400 pounds. The truck is one of the first few serious contenders for electric work trucks and managed to generate a decent amount of buzz, especially considering there were so many other announcements to steal the spotlight.
Cummins also announced a new range of Medium-Duty engines, something which all medium-duty drivers will appreciate as Cummins is known to make some of the best truck engines out there. Buyers Products also announced some interesting products at the Work Truck Show, such as the new SaltDogg® SHPE2500 Series Spreaders which offer both improves aesthetics and functionality.
International Trucks managed to generate the most amount of buzz with their new HX series. The new series is beautiful and sturdy; it is filled with features that increase the strength of the body.
