ATA Technology and Maintenance Council Contributes New Text
The American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council announced it has donated copies of its newly updated PMI Guidelines Manual for Class 7 & 8 Diesel-Powered Tractors to over 50 institutes in more than 28 states. This new text, courtesy of Truck Centers for Arkansas, will play an important role in the current curriculum.
American Trucking Associations is the biggest national trade association in the trucking industry. Through a federation of 50 affiliated state trucking associations and industry-related conferences and councils, ATA is the voice of the industry America depends on most to move our nation’s freight.
Carl Kirk, ATA Vice President said: “With the need for skilled technicians growing exponentially, it is important for our industry to cultivate the next generation of truck and diesel engine specialists. That’s why we’re pleased to donate these updated resources to these deserving schools.”
These resources provide the newest information concerning compliance with regulations through proper guidelines. The updated information covers a broad range of topics. The updated suite of PMI Manuals follow the testing protocols established by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as well as other prominent organizations. The Council encourages technical institutions that have a diesel technician training program to consider incorporating the manuals into their training curriculum.
