America’s Road Team Selection Proceedings Begin Final Round
The American Trucking Associations recently kicked off the final round of the America’s Road Team selection proceedings. A panel of trucking executives, trade press members, and other knowledgeable industry personnel will evaluate finalists based on a variety of criteria. These include things like driving records, knowledge of the industry, and more.
America’s Road Team Captain, Dion Saiz, said: “Over the coming days, finalists for the next class of America’s Road Team will be assessed on their abilities to share personal trucking stories and display professional qualities. My role as mentor is to provide feedback for my small group of finalists and encourage them to enjoy the process, build relationships with other drivers and put their best foot forward.”
Current finalists bring a whopping 893 years of experience between them, as well as a combined total of over 77.5 million safe-driving miles! Many of the finalists are state-level road team captains, national driving champions, and standouts at their companies.
American Trucking Associations’ Chief Executive Vice President of Industry Affairs and Chief Operating Officer, Elisabeth Barna, said: “The 33 drivers who were selected as finalists are all expected to be strong contenders for the next America’s Road Team. Each of the finalists is a great ambassador for our industry and, whether selected to the team or not, will continue to represent trucking and build on their impressive safety records.”
